You are encouraged to attend our monthly meeting on St. Patrick’s day in March (Monday the 17th). The hostess is one of our new members, Teresa Woodward and the program will be presented by Delaware County Genealogical Society President and Grove Public Library Staffer, Glendia White: The Genealogy of True Grit.
What does “True Grit” mean to you? The fifteen branches of the Eastern Oklahoma District Library System are featuring the book, True Grit, and movies this spring. DCGS President and employee of the Grove Public Library, Glendia White will present an original program entitled “The Genealogy of True Grit”. It will feature the family stories of the author, Charles McColl Portis, as well as the original cast members of the 1968 version of True Grit. While building a new nation, many of our ancestors exhibited grit and determination to survive. True Grit.
Once again, the public is welcome and don’t forget to bring friends! Networking starts at 6:00 PM with the meeting at 6:30 PM at the First National Bank Community Room, Miami, Oklahoma.
