The Ottawa County Genealogical Society will meet Monday evening, April 16th, in the community room of the First National Bank, 1749 N. Main St., Miami, Oklahoma at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served for attendees by hostesses Shirley Carter and Ida McMillan.
The program will deal with beginning genealogy: Members will assist genealogists with the logistics of basic genealogy forms. Time will also be devoted to the discussion of numerous items available in the home to assist in beginning research. This program for beginners should make those starting out more comfortable as they embark on their genealogy.
This beginning genealogy program will kick off a “Back to Basics of Genealogy” series. This summer series will include the study of numerous wide-ranging documents and their locations. The use of the computer in research will also be further explored. As always, the public is invited to meetings.
